If you’re planning to join most of the regular regiments they have an overseas recruiting cell you can get in contact with, who will organize you a date for the physical and everything.

That way, you can either fly in when your physical is required and save yourself some money living in the country.

There’s also the option of gaining temporary work in the UK in a pub, a quick google search with the term “pub jobs UK” will render you plenty of information on the subject.

Generally what they do is set you up with a job, a room and a meal a day working in a pub, usually living in accommodation in the pub itself.

This will give you a semi-permanent address and a place to base yourself from for your application.
